LUNA (2018)

metal, glass, plastic, rubber

Height / Width / Depth: 65 x 45 x 35 cm

Luna was born in summer, in a Barcelona suffocated by heat and tourists, from the fortuitous encounter between a globe, the hood ornament of a classic American car, a screen that blurs the light as if it were a star, and the desire to escape.

It invites you to dream, to travel and launch yourself on the back of a rocket into an unknown universe.

Provides warmth and security.

The strength of its weight gives it an unquestionable authority that makes Luna the best means of transportation for that trip to the unusual.

In my opinion, this piece manages to reflect the importance of the most relevant aspects of my work.

That is to say, the symmetry, the volumes, the proportions and even the colours reflect a harmony that I find beautiful and in this piece in particular, it welcomes me on a most stimulating cosmic journey.

It has something of Meliés’ and his “Journey to the Moon”, also of Kubrick and his “Dr Strangelove or: How I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb”or even Tintin in “Landing on the Moon”.
